Custom built in trailer hitch
I just got a price on a trailer hitch to be installed in the bumper simular to factory $275.00 from local hitch guy.
The bumper would be noched(like factory)
I thought the price was good so I made a appointment for may 4th.
My question: the installer recomends standard round trailer plug for lights,I think its the same as the factory one?.Is that the best one to get ?
Did anyone install a custom hitch in the bumper ?
I have been thinking of getting a hitch but didnt want a aftermarket under the bumper,I will tow a small trailer for motorcycles and also use it for a rear platform for camping gear.I might also get a small camper if I can find one cheap.
I will probobly get a rear tube step for it when im not towing.

Re: Custom built in trailer hitch
Fourfourto,
I recomend the 7 pin round RV type plug. It is a very versatile plug , and if you ever need to tow a trailer with the 4 pin flat type plug, there is an adapter that just plugs right into the socket on the truck.
I adapted the Army trailer I showed in the past to accept the 7 pin round plug and it makes towing a great deal easier to connect and dis-connect.
Get some pics out when it is complete.

Yeh thats what I will get.
I put off getting custom bumper now because the deal on motorcycle trailer didnt work out .
I will get it when I come across a trailer or a camper.
Its put on the back burner for now.
