Default has anyone done DYI sidesteps...

so, i purchased some N-Fabs, now it seems like the shipping got pushed back till the end of the month.. i ordered these last week. so not too happy with waiting, and now the buyers regret is kicking in big time.

so, im just looking to see who has made thier own sidesteps for thier H2.

Could do what I did to my H2 and make spacers that kick out your factory rock tube 1.5 inches and then install the LE steps. You just take off the LE Steps when you go offroad.

i do like the LE steps, as well as the U steps.. i just think i would like to see something more rugged looking. the N-fabs are nice.. they have the look i want.. i just really hate waiting on parts and people.. more so if they have my money already!

i am tempted to just go buy some square 2.5 x 2.5 tubing and a wire fed welder with the money i paid for the N-fabs ($450) and try making my own side steps. really what i have in my head is pretty much just that to achieve the look i want. the hardest part is bending square tubing to make the steps unless i cut and weld them together.......... been many years since i have done any welding tho... many many years..
