Anyone have any idea how old the images are. I know they are at least a year old for my area because if I pull up my house, I still have a ton of trees. Don't have many since the hurricanes last year
I know they aren't real recent just for security concerns.

As stated at the Google website:
"Not all cities are covered in high resolution (where you can see individual buildings and cars) detail. We have more imagery of the United States than other countries currently. And because the imagery comes from a variety of sources, and is mosaic-ed together, it is difficult for us to specify the date of a city or region (a single city may have imagery taken from different months)."

Check out high security areas, like the White House and surrounding buildings. The roofs are blocked out.

That is cool - what a way to start the day - stand on top of Everest and take in the view.

How old are they?
At least a couple of years old. Well at least for my side of the country.
If you look over Bagdad it says Former Republic Palace.

You can also add your own points of interest to the google database/map. Then in your client click the USER SUPPLIED COLLECTIONS option on the botton left to see everyone else's.
We use this for backpacking

I mean for scouting backpacking locations because you can tilt the map and fly over the terrain...
