Okay. Here's my question...
If you were to go to a restaurant for take out would you leave a tip for the person who rang you up? My guess is that most people would answer "no".
Okay... Now imagine that you go to the same restaurant and use the "Curb Side Pick-Up" service. Do you tip the person who brings the food to the car?
This question came up the other day and I didn't have the answer.
What do you folks think?

I'll keep this simple.
NO.
I also don't tip the driveup window at McDonalds.
Do you?

My answer was NO. You don't need to tip the bring-it-out-to-the-car guy/girl, but some of the womenz here at work disagreed.
Just wondering what others think, especially as different parts of the country react differently in their attitudes.

I'd probably give a buck to them if they brought it out to the truck. Beyond that, no.

I think I tip them something. Not the typical tip but a couple of bucks or something.
Not much difference between them bringing the food out to your truck or out to table. They are not "waiting" on you so the tip is small, but I do tip them.
I also tip the chicks at Sonic drive-ins, more if they are cute and are wearing roller skates.

It used to be that most people that work in places like Applebee's, Chili's, Outback, ect. do not make min. wage because they have the ability to make tips so the owner does not have pay them min wage. I'm sure someone out there used to work at a place like that let us know.???

Probably still below minimum wage now, but it has been a while.
As for the question at hand...I do tip a couple bucks at Sonic, and would if someone delievered food to my car no matter where I was.

Food service is no fun at all - So yes, I'd give them something. More if it was bad weather.

In that situation, I'd probably tip, a little bit. But overall, I think all food service jobs are getting greedy when it comes to tipping. I'm talking about places like Starbucks or Togos that put out tip boxes. It's only a matter of time before they start asking for tips at BK.
BTW, doesn't this thread belong in the H2 General Discussion?

Klaus it funny you say, that I told Paragon the same thing that I alway tip more at outback if its raining. And Paragon even when in to pick up at Outback onetime because it was hailing. I'm sure most of you saw the video.

Yes, you are supposed to tip the curb side pick-up people. They get paid the same or less than the waiters, they prepare the food to go and bring it to you.
I usually tip the curb side pick-up people 10-15%, maybe more if they are hot. But then again I usually tip 20-25% at sit down resturaunts.
But I'm sure if you want to be a cheap bastard in your hummer they will understand that not everyone knows you are supposed to tip and just spit in your food the next time. (they ask for your vehicle model...they remember!)

Good man.
The single biggest problem with getting curb-side delivery in a Hummer is that the rig is just too damn tall. In my old Fiero, the girls had to bend down to get their tip.
