i have to say i agree somewhat... the engine sucks, i dont have one touch up and down on drivers and passenger doors, the arm rests are impossible to naturally get at the buttons, the seat adjustments are gay cuz of the tightness, and what else... uhhhh..... i dunno, but I LOVE IT! dont get me wrong here

Guess I need to go read the article. I was off road with a MDX a couple of months ago and I don't see any earthly way that it could be called an off road vehicle that is remotely in the class of the H3. Now, the MDX is actually a nicer vehicle if you are looking for luxury though.

I have only had mine for 3 days now but I have to agree with view out the back window. Anybody 5 ft and under is getting run over.

I can’t see anything back there, cars, bikes, kids, old people, national monuments…

I also agree with the poor location of the power seat controls, although once you have found your spot how much do you really need to change it?

Other than that I think he is doing what most other reviewers are doing which is lumping the H3 in with the standard mall rated SUV's.

I have learned after reading so many of these reviews to take them with a grain of salt and keep in mind that they are being written for the general populace.

Truck Trend did an on/off road review a few months back in which the H3 came in 2nd to a $58k 8cyl LR3.

That alone speaks volumes as to the H3 abilities both on and off road.

I tend to take auto reviews just as I do with the movie reviews. If they hate it, it is probably pretty good, if they love it, probably won't go see it.

A clear example of a clueless review. Not one single word about H3's primary raison d'etre; the 4x4 system and off road capability. He might as well have compared it to a Buick or Camry. Utterly and totally without a clue.

Yup, he didn't even take it offroad. One thing that no one talks about is how awesome they are offroad. Even quick driving on dirt fire roads is excellent. Love the H3. We WILL get a rear camera though!

This is a dup...and I'll say the same thing in this one as I said in the other thread. Mark Phelan, couldn't review a roll of toilet paper; let alone an off-road vehicle. Granted, driving on MI roads is similar to being off-road, but it is not the same thing.

For this mindless person to say that the H3 lacks the heart proves he has not taken it off-road. Does it lack the heart to go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds? Yes, but can it climb a mountain? Yes.

Saying that the H3 lacks the heart is like saying a ZO6 lacks heart since it can't climb a mountain due to low ground clearance.

Most of the journalists who review cars for Detroit papers are notorious in bashing anything made by the US car manufacturers.

For something really scathing, try Consumer Reports*. They gave the H3 the lowest rating of 29/100 for ANY midsize SUV. Little explanation other than hard ride, poor visibility, weak engine for 4,900(sic) pound car, and clumsy steering. I, personally, cannot see why the Toyota HIghlander tops the list followed by the likes of the RX330. The H3 is the ONLY midsize suv worth being interested in. Because if it can't go off-road, just go buy a freakin' station wagon (or wagen, whichever you prefer).
