I'd bet Toyota wants it badly because they need a diesel partner for their new Tundra. And the last I read, Chrysler is not going to be happy if Cummins supply Toyota too...

Isuzu doesn't own Duramax. It was a joint venture betwen GM and Isuzu then GM bought the other 50% of the rights to it a few years ago. The engine is made in GM's Moraine plant in Ohio

toyota probably makes more diesels worldwide than anyone. why would they want duramax?
