Default Edwards, Colorado

Has anyone ever been here before? This place is like Pleasantville. People are so incredibly messed up as far as their druggie kids, broken families, ideals, and vehicle selection.

I met this one family that has a son who plays hockey, maybe not all that well, and the parents spend ALL of their time with him in Quebec/CA/Denver. It's like this kid is a god. And the parents think, "Here in America, we should have less holidays, and more mandated time off, like the French!" I nearly coughed up my dinner at that one. I was like, "Yeah, if you want the economy to fall apart." Then the wife was telling me how she hates tattoos, that they're so stupid, but she would like to get some... Denial!

Then another is so ultra conservative that the mom was freaking out because her 18 year old son had bikini models on his computer. The father refused to buy SIRIUS radio because Howard Stern was on it, and he thinks Howard is "smutty." I mean, maybe he is, but you shouldn't choose XM just because you hate Howard. I'd go by music variety and quality.

I'm so sad because I can't find anyone to carry on a reasonable or intelligent conversation. No one reads the news, and hockey, biking, and basketball seem to be the preoccupation of both males and females.

However, all these families are fascinated by Hummers. They don't own one, but they certainly find mine very interesting. Everyone stares at it. But it's funny how they think it's such a guzzler, and rides like a buckboard. A lot of families have the FJ here now, and they stare at me (whether in disgust or envy!) and some of these guys I know are thinking about buying one. So I'm doing my best to steer them into the Hummer department. Maybe it will work... Of course, maybe these guys are better left to their Toyotas!

Thank goodness for the General Off Topic Forum!

And what is it that you do in Edwards that you get to in order to partake in such lovely conversations??? Sounds like you get to see 'em all! (Yes, been there... don't recall the strange looks for my H2, but people sure got out of my way! ) Love the "Back Bowl", by the way!

I'm living with a woman who taught my parents how to ski in 1980 or so. She's friends with all these families because her kids play hockey with their kids. So we've been going over and eating free dinners... They get soused up, and the conversation begins!

What a two face mooch. Talk about biting the hand that feeds him.

Why don't you just stick a pen in your eye you retard.

Because I make awesome crowd-pleasing desserts when I go over, or bring some food or something to drink! So I can say whatever I want. Go get some bananas!
