I wouldn't advise lifting your Hummer more than 6 inches, especially if your going to drive it everyday. More than 6 inches creates much more intense stress on the frame of your hummer, and without beefing up the frame and upgrading components it is likely to cause major wear and even breakage. There are many people who have done this and it does work, but it does get very pricy to do. Let me know if you have any further questions, my friend went through this whole process and I can ask him for you.

Im not sure what you mean by more insight? The 12" wouldn't be very street worthy, since it's used the previous owner probably realized the complications from it, and decided to get rid of it. Where are you looking for these lift kits from? That seems relativly a lot more expensive than where I got my 6" kit. Brand new I got my 6" kit for about 2200$, and it's worked absolutlely flawless for me.

Hmm. Im getting a quote from a lift shop here in NC. It is for the bulletproof 6 with uniball, cv driveshaft, dual shock, and fox shox. What kind of kit did you get and can I get a phone number that is a great price. Thanks for your help Lotus

Hey I found out why our price quotes were so different ha. The guy I know owns a distribution center, and a shop that fits parts for people. He's an old friend of mine, and was quoting me for all the stuff at cost. Was gonna have em install it for me for free and everything what a nice guy ha. I might be able to get all the parts for you from him at cost, then you just have to pay your lift shop for the labor to install them. Or even just install them yourself. Let me know if you want me to look into him getting them, I need to know that your serious though because I would have to purchase them from him and then sell them to you to get them at cost.

There is a dude on Craigslist Reader (I think Vegas) selling his 18" monster truck famous lift kit for $2,000. HA! I guess he didn't feel like climbing a ladder to drive everyday.

Post your progress on here, I'm in the market as well, thanks and good luck!

38's on a 12" lift wouldn't look right. I have 37's on my 6" fabtech, and it could of easily taken 40's.

Factor in another $2000 for gears and installation. Trucks going to be totally gutless. About another $1000 for all the cognito steering support **** and HD tierods.

I'd seriously try to find someone that has the kit your looking at and see if you could take a short drive. I dont know if I would honestly go through all this **** again. Think I pissed through damn near $10,000 in 30 days.

FYI, get an alignment before you put on the kit and save the print out...If you have issues w/ the kit after like I did, it makes it soo much easier to figure what the **** went wrong.

Putting on a lift so you can go to a bigger tire but with a lower profile is counter productive.

I have had my fabtech for a while and yes I wish I would have put bigger tires it can and will clear 40's. I have 37's on 22's right now and planning on upping to 40's in jan. It also comes with a dual shock kit just like the bullet proof kit. It may not be fancy chrome and such but it serves the same purpose. I have bashed it and it has held through. Just my $.02 for you.
