Rather than going through the hassle of finding someone with black mirror caps that are in relatively decent condition (my chrome caps have all of 500 miles on them now) I was wondering if anyone had painted their existing chrome caps? I can't imagine it's too hard to match the flat black of the mirror 'stalks' and stripping the chrome off of the existing ones is a few shots of Easy-Off away. I can't believe it's more than a $50 job for a decent body shop...

Does anyone have any idea what color black (or a paint code from GM or Color-Rite) the black mirror caps are painted? Also, if anyone has done this what did the paint shop charge you?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Alec,

What part of Denver are you in? I'm out in Highlands...

And how bad can rattle can satin black look? It's not exactly a 'show' color but it is the 'standard' color for the black mirror caps.
