Has anyone had the steering basically lock up when you try to turn the wheel while not moving. As soon as I release the brake, the wheel frees up. I've had the steering box replaced without change.

well i'm sure someone may have already told you but just incase. this is most likly a normal thing. due to the hydro-boost brake system. this system includes the p/s system. there for has a direct effect to each other. By dry steering (which is not good on anything on the rig!) and the brake on the pressure is too great for the p/s release valve. Thus opening the valve making the assist from the power steering pump low if at all. As for the sudden un-binding when you release the brakes, that the rotors and steering system releaving all the force you just applied now that the wheels can rotate. Hope this helps  |

That is normal to an extent, but it is much worse if your front tire pressure is low. I'm willing to bet you're low on air pressure, because the steering is usually very liveable when you're air pressure is correct.

You guys are spot on. It is really noticable when I have deflated to around 20-25 lbs while off-roading. What else can I do?

AAAHHHHH!!! Everyone, techray(So imaginative  ) is my tech and has been so for about 2 years. He is to be extended diplomatic immunity. He just fixed the clunking and grinding noise in the front end of my H2. And he's lucky he did or I was going to have to beat him with my shoe.
He knows his fashizzle.

Diplomatic immunity times 2! He fixed my rig many times. oops, I mean frequently. Oops, I mean on occasion. I meant once, and only once.
