Hi there i am somewhat new at these forums. I got an H3 yellow adv pac. back in november.
Im noticing a weired problem. My H3 Door Logos and the hatch logo are pealing. The black paint that surrounds the logo at the top is coming off. Underneath is like a crome or something.
The one on the passenger door is the worst one. The paint is also coming off the #3 of the logo. Just wondering if any body else has experienced this. Of course I have the GM warrenty so this type of thing should be fixed.
Thanks
Bruce

It's under warranty... so just take it back to the dealer. Haven't heard of that before, but someone else here might have. Post some pics of these issues for us to see.

i will be posting Pics as soon as i get a chance
Im also getting that squelling sound when its first started up after sitting in the cold overnight.
I did read somewhere in the forums that it has to do with the pully bely or something being off or not set right???
Is this true, does anybody have a good artical that i could print out to show the dealership so they believe me. with it being warm here in pa latley it wont do it for them at the dealership. Plus i live an hour away so i dont want to take it al the way to the dealer for nothing.
im also still sometimes getting a burning rubber smell. My H3 has around 3500 miles on it. But i dont see any kind of oil or any spots whatsoever on my driveway.
Any sugestions?
Thanks
Bruce

I get the same smell from time to time. Less than 2,000 miles on mine though.

The emblems are made overseas. By the way, so are the H2's. Paint might not have been right.

I'm noticing the same burning smell. Doesn't happen all the time but after extended driving I usually smell it. I have 2900 miles on mine. Didn't notice it until I was at about 2500 miles.

H3 Builder = a) great job! The H3 is one of the most well built vehicles I have been in in a while b) aren't the H2s still built in the GM financed facility along side the H1/Humvee plant in Indiana?

Thanks!

(taking delivery of my green/green H3 tonight)

Yes they are built in Indiana. The emblems are what are made overseas.

Im going to replace the emblems with aftermarket stainless steel ones anyway. but i will make the dealer replace the original and tell them i want to keep the old one then i will take of the new ones. so i will have 3 sets.
It just mskes me made. I love my hummer. they are suposed to be well built.... which it is by fare. I know the emblems arent a big deal and stuff happens. Its just a apin because i got to take off work and loss pay just to take it to the dealership.
Thanks
Bruce

Did you or the dealer use anything on you hummer that might of been the cause of the paint to come off? The reason I ask is that all 3 emblems come out of 3 different boxes of material and would have different lot numbers. The odds on that happening would have to be pretty high.

No didnt use anything.

I looked closer at the emblems. The pass. door one and the rear hatch door one is pealing. the drivers side door emblem is fine.
kinda weird.
