2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
Ok, I have asked before about the 2008 H3 and was primarily focused on what is now called the Alpha; however, now I am curious to know if many of the changes (safety and internal cosmetic changes) seen with the Alpha will be applied to the regular lineup. Of course, minus the V8!

Roof rail air bags are going to be standard in the '08 H3, and stabilitrak will be in all vehicles (wasn't available in manual trans. before).

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
Me Too, Me too... I am thinking I would rather build up the I5 the way I want to (avoiding the bling and auto trans.) and use the extra money for goodies. Any one have info on any changes to the base yet, color bla bla bla

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
My thoughts exactly! I agree the V8 and the Alpha would be nicer, but I am curious about costs, both direct and indirect, like fuel consumption and the like! Plus I am not too keen on being a beta tester for GM!!

Main difference will be the significant price difference, not the gas mileage. And only the auto tranny will be available with the V8.

And the Cast Iron Front Diff is only with the V8.

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
You won't be beta testing the engine, it has been out there for a while. The Alpha has been tested now for over two years. Last thing I would worry about is the reliability and durability of the engine. I would worry about the pricing though.
As for the changes, from what I have seen and read, there is very little except for the Alpha package and you know what changes that encompasses.

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
Some more changes...
-You'll be able to get a power driver's seat in base and adventure models
-Monsoon will now be standard in adventure package
-Chrome Appearance standard on Alphas (I'm not thrilled)
-Alpha can combine w/ ZM6 (off-road suspension pack, essentially adventure pack) and H3x package, but not both. Yes, you can have an Alpha H3x - expensive!
- All new 08 H3s GVWR will be 6001 lbs (good for tax time)
- Rearview camera system optional on all H3s that have trailer package

No problem about the beta testing! You know though the first version isn't always the best!!
I am a bit worried about the pricing!

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
So building a non alpha is sounding better to me, more money to spend on more goodies, the list keeps growing
-xm radio will also be standard?
-Monsoon will now be standard in adventure package...cool
-All new 08 H3s GVWR will be 6001 lbs?? Why so?
-Rearview camera system optional on all H3s that have trailer package, that will be nice, wonder how much$$?
-Any news on colors?

Re: 2008 H3 (non-Alpha)
My brother's girlfriend's cousin knows someone at GM and they are sure the 2008 model will also include more off-road goodies (only available on the H3x model though ) - On-board air (similar to H2 air system)
- Electronically selectable front locker
- Load leveling for towing (driven off the on-board air )
- Tow/haul feature for tranny
- Green is coming back (same color, different name)
- Expanded DIC display options (gas mileage, range, etc) similar to the full-size chevy trucks
- Tire-specific TPM to tell you which tire is low
- Factory-programmable 35" tire size speedo adjustment (no need for aftermarket PCM program)
- XM and Sirius radio options (thanks to the planned merger). Also includes iPod integration on the Nav radio
- Full-window rear wiper (no more 50% coverage) along with openable rear window (great for getting in w/o having to open rear gate)
No price point for these options yet, but I imagine they will add a couple thousand bucks...
if you believe this, you are way too gullible to be on this forum...
