No acceleration
Got in the 3 tonight, All lights are on. The message said traction failed check stabilize system...There is absolutley no acceleration. Peddle to the floor, rpm's about 2g's and cruising about 50mph. Got home, then I took her out again. Everything was normal except the check enging light was on. Have any of you guys experienced this? Kind of weird, I have no clue. Thanks

Re: No acceleration
For some malfunctions the computer will oput itself into a limp home mode. if you have onstar have them run a diagnostic. Also call the service department in the moring.

Re: No acceleration
Doubt if it is a problem with the cylinder head. I know a guy who ran a few thousand miles with the bad cylinder head, and only problem was the idiot light and a very rough idle.
Does sound like a major problem if the computer went into the "limp" mode, but better than the "tennis shoe" mode.

Re: No acceleration
It sounds like the engine went into Reduced Engine Power mode. Since the H3 is a drive by wire, it monitors the commanded throttle position (accelerator pedal) using two sensors and the actual throttle position (throttle body). If the commanded postion is different from the actual position -> Reduced Engine Power mode. The vehicle will just limp along in this mode. When you restarted the engine, the PCM found agreement between commanded throttle position and actual throttle postion and operated normally. You can either have the code cleared or it may clear on its own after XX number of driving cycles.

Re: No acceleration
Thanks for the info guys. Today the check engine light was on for a while. It did go away after a few stops. Taking it in tomorrow to have everything checked out.

Re: No acceleration
my Audi TT used to go into limp mode all the time, a real pain. Usually happened when someone was messing with me too lol. Of course I was running 25psi of boost
