Do you just remove the screws going in through the plastic into those metal looking supports and pull it off? Do those metal support brackets come out?

You are talking about the sunroof deflector, right?

If so, yes, you remove the 3 screws and just slide the metal brackets off the roof.

One warning though... the buffetting effect from the wind will drive you nuts.

Why are you wanting to remove it?

I want to remove it because I have a GOBI Stealth rack & fairing and I want to snug that fairing up against the rack. I can't get the fairing any closer because of the deflector and I'm getting the shadow effect from the lights up there on the back of the fairing.

And I'm bored

Thanks!!

OK.. looking at the 2003 H2 Service manual, there are no sensors/switches that are connected to the deflector brackets

So, if your RAP (Retained Accessory Power) works.. that is, once you turn off the ignition, all the powered components work until you open a door, or after ~10 minutes, then the next step is to check and see if power is making it to the sunroof motor/switch. If not, then most likely the fuse for the sunroof is blown. If the fuse is ok, then there may be something wrong in the BCM (body control module) which a dealer would have to diagnose.

Hope this helps

Its an '05. The motor was operating and sliding the sunroof closed, but then it catches on something and reverses back to open. I gave it a little help and it closed.

So somehow I f#cked up the lights now too. Created a short somewhere in the harness up on top. Not a good night. What's the saying, if it ain't broke...
