Earlier today, rumors began circulating online that Toyota was trying to hide a recall related to its new FJ Cruiser by not officially announcing it to the public. A published report even suggested the only place Toyota had announced the recall was on an enthusiast message board. It turns out, however, that this is far from the truth. On Monday, Toyota filed a recall notice with NHTSA regarding a problem with the tires included on the new Toyota FJ Cruiser. What's more, Toyota has prepared a notice that will go out to all 9,000 affected owners on July 5th. The affected rubber ? Bridgestone Duelers and Dunlop Grandtrek tires ? were damaged during installation and will be replaced free of charge at service centers as soon as possible.
