Take a read through this thread:

There's a bunch of opinions/experiences posted there. Dan's got some detailed pictures and commentary on his kit install.

I would skip the kits and build your own system for two reasons.

1. I don't like the setups where the compressor is attached to the tank. You're going to have a hard enough time finding a place to mount a tank, much less one with a compressor hanging off it.

2. You need at least a 3 gallon tank to power those horns. I have similar horns and they use about 75cfm.

The key to air horns is not so much the pressure, but the air volume. If you want to get the full effect of the horns you need to go with BIG tank ports, air line, and valve. I used 1/2" for everything and it made a HUGE difference over the crappy 1/4" line they give you with a kit.

I wasted a bunch of time and $$ figuring this out. If I had to do it again I'd buy the stuff separately:

Horns
3-gal tank with 1/2" ports
ViAir compressor
150psi pressure switch
1/2" I.D. hose
1/2" I.D. Valve - I used a GC Xtreme fast nitrous valve

That will get you the most from the horns. A couple second blast will drop the 3-gallon tank down 50psi and take a minute or two to refill. I can take a few pics of my setup if you're interested.

Have fun!

Yeah, those were the early stages. I still have the same horns & compressor in the pics, but I have a different tank, line, and valve now.

The Viair is the only option of those two but follow Dan's advice. The Viair's compressor is a 100% duty compressor so you don't have to worry about it running all the time and wearing out if you set up the air as on-board air for tires, tools, etc.

You'll have a much easier time trying to fit a tank of that size somewhere. I have 5 gallon tank and it will not fit anywhere within reason.

Buy the components separate and find a tank with at least one 1/2" port.

Few things - I made my own bracket for the horns by welding angle iron onto the existing bracket. You'll have to do something similar if you want them under the hood. It's a very tight fit but it can be done. Also, I have the compressor & tank mounted in the jack compartment in the bed. The jack is now under the back seat.

The the jack compartment you'll need to grind/cut off the jack mounts so the tank will fit. I had to cut some of the plastic between the compartment and where the accessory outlet is since the tank was long. The compressor power is tapped into the accessory outlet power.

I'll post more as I think of it.

Here ya go, here is the horn installation. If you want a compressor/tank pic let me know. It's pretty much self-explainatory though.

Man, that's tight in there under the hood. But it is out of view so it won't draw the attention of a LEO looking for any excuse to hassle you.
