How do you remove the Roof Crossbars?
One of my crossbars got damaged going under a parking garage clearance marker, you know the 4" PVC pipe that hangs from chains. I slowly went underneath and after it went over my front bar it went slamming back into the rear bar. Rear bar is loose and I need to remove it in order to repair it.

Look at this link. A couple of threads on this and it can be frustrating to get the clips to release. Once the rear clip is out just loosen the rack knobs and slide it back and out they come.

#6 in the image has a little clip that you press to remove. Then loosen the knobs on both sides of the rail and slide it back; then you can just lift it off.
Getting #6 out can sometimes be a little tricky and you may feel like you're going to break it...just be patient and you'll be fine.

a pvc pipe hanging on chains broke your roof rack? Or it wasn't the right height and you hit the parking garage?

PVC hanging on chains. The PVC pipe is the actual clearance marker.

I never understood why everyone talks about it begin so difficult. Mine came right off in a matter of seconds when I installed my GOBI. Popped the access covers off and slid the rails back...done!

Re: How do you remove the Roof Crossbars?
Didn't work,I have an SUT and they don't have the clip like SUVs. I had to take the corner marker assemblies of in rear to remove. The crazy thing is that I find out after bars were removed that I did not have to remove them after all. To tighten up your crossbars all you have to do is unlock and take caps off the end you want to tighten, lift up the black rubber strip on the top of crossbar and the Torx screw heads can be accessed from the top. All is good now, no more rattling of crossbars over potholes.
