Default smashed windshield

not totally smashed but, a rock hit the drivers side tonight and i have about a 1 inch "splinter" in her, isnt their a way to salvage this so i dont have to replace the whole thing? how much does a windshield cost anyway? i think i remember hearing guys say they have claimed these on their insurance, is that right?

Sorry to hear about this.

A damaged windshield caused by a stone kicked up by another vehicle would be a covered claim under your personal auto insurance policy if you purchased comprehensive insurance coverage. Some insurance companies do not even require that you pay the deductible if the windshield can be repaired. Call your insurance agent and get specific details. Hope this helps and good luck!

I know the replacement of a windshield does not cost as much as my 500 dollar deductible. There are ways to have the cracks filled. Here is a website with a little more information. http://www.achickandawindshield.com/repairable.htm

Get 'er replaced... between $250 and $300 -- very cheap. I had the same looking chip (below)... and even after I had it "repaired" it never really disappeared. -- it looked very close to the picture below. It was also on the driver's side and I could not stop staring at the damn thing, so I just had it replaced.

thanks, but here is what will happen, i will have it replaced and than itll smash again, so i knowm if i just get it repaired it will be cool forever, just how **** works for me
