Nitto Mud Grappler

I saw that Nitto recently released the new Mud Grappler - http://www.nittotire.com/tires_mudgrappler.asp

I am looking for an agressive winter/rock tire and wondered if anyone else has any experience with these tires?

Hey Zero - thanks for your great insight! It never crossed my mind that they are new and no one could have bought a set yet. Next time I need a worthless empty opinion I'll be sure to rattle your hamster cage. Why waste your time even replying if you are not going to add any value to the discussion?

I have also been looking at those tires. It is my understanding from talking to my buddy who is the manager of 4 Wheel Parts here at the Houston North store, that they haven't been released yet to the public. I know that they have been testing them on the RockCrawler competitions though.

Additionally, I saw where Toyo is going to release a new mud terrain that also looks very promising. I'll let you know if I see or hear anything else on the Mud Grapplers though...

I heard that these tires do not support the truck stable on side slopes. Look at the pattern???

I have been looking into these tires also, but for the price of these tires you could get yourself some BFG M/T's and a set of SSR's or TSL's for occasional use. Just a thought!
I agree, thet are really nice looking tires, and from what I've heard, thet peform fairly well, in all areas, but are they really worth it?

P.S. Don't rattle to hamster Cage, He'll piss on you the next time you try to pick him up!!

Hummerdogg = appreciate the info. Please drop me a note if you hear anything additional on the Toyo's.

Ric - havent seen a price on these, what price have you seen?

As cheap as a set of OEM wheels are, I thought I would mount them with an agressive snow/rock tire and use them during the deep winter months and when heading up to the mountains. Any suggestions on other tires is greatly appreciated.

I've seen them listed for about $450 each.
Pretty ridiculous. Maybe it's because they are so new, and hopefully, the price drops sooner than later.

Hot Damn 20" wheels.. We-ins was trailer trash we I done got hitched to my wife .. But I grew out of it.. --- maybe not.. I got a look at an H@ road warrior with 20".. it really doesn't look that bad.. Of course it was sitting next to a ghetto sled with 24".

try the GY MTRs. They are great tires on & off the road. Great on sand and gravel. Awesome on rocks!!!
They don't cost an arm & a leg, either.
If you shop around you can find them for around $200-250.

So has anyone tried to fit the 37-13.50 Pro Comp X-Terrain without a lift?

My guess is they are going to rub because of their width. Although, I think that their width would look great on a stock height H2. I am willing to do some minor fender trimming and a slight torsion bar adjustment.

Do you guys think it would work? I'm gong to buy the 37'X-Terrains or the 37' Goodyear MTRs later this month.

Wasn't one of the San Antonio guys (the 4 Green ones at that software company) planning to run X-terrains without a lift? Randall, any progress?
