Did I over pay??
Just bought this vehicle for $42k my concern is I can't get a straight answer from GM if the warranty is still valid with the supercharger. Did I pay to much??

More Photos
Condition Value Excellent $47,380
Suggested Retail Value Assumes Excellent Condition... More
That's just a suggested retail price. Most of the used H2's don't sell for that though. With all the ACC.'s you did good...if you were going to put them on yourself after you bought a truck without them. I'm guessing the aftermarket and custom paint added about 25K to that truck when new including the installation.
I have seen 06's go for that price, but without all the addon's.
nice looking truck.
Your engine, trans. is more than likely out of warranty due to the SC. Unless you can track down the original owner and find out who did the isntalltion and check for an added warranty, you may just have bought a truck without one.

Re: Did I over pay??
If I know GM, if it's connected to the engine and breaks, they will blame the supercharger and refuse to cover it. I noticed the ad said supplimental warranty. What's that all about.
GM refused to cover my power steering on my previous Tahoe after I put the lift kit and larger tires on it.
They said "It failed because of your changes".
Of course, since Hummer is a upscale brand, and in my experience, more customer oriented, you might get lucky...

Re: Did I over pay??
Magnacharger offers a std limited 3yr warranty, but their offer an optional 3yr/36000 powertrain warranty for $200. So I'm sure they picked that up.
http://www.magnacharger.com/sc-hummerh2.htm
BTW - nice ride. I would replace the mirrors, but imo everything else looks good. As far as any factory warranty goes, GM will most likely not warranty the motor if anything happens. According to the Magnuson-Moss warranty act, the dealership has to prove that the cause was a direct result of your modification. Re: Did I over pay??
It says in the ebay description that it has a supplemental warranty w/ the Magnuson.
We had ours supercharged by Lingenfelter and the warranty was upheld on non-related parts. I would call the dealer you plan to use and ask some anonymous questions.
It's a good looking truck, I can't comment on the price because I haven't a clue, Congratulations and welcome.

Not busting your chops, but you already bought it. So if you felt good about the price-go and enjoy it.

Re: Did I over pay??
What Dragon says! Plus it really has allot to do with the attitude of your dealer. Dealer can make the warranty work if he really wants to.
Go on Ebay and buy stock intake as well as any other equipment that was removed for supercharger conversion, I even still have my stock converts if I need them. Where a dealer gives up quickly is when the manufacturer wants to send someone outside the dealer service dept. to look at problem to justify repairs.
By buying the H2 from online I would doubt a dealer is going to be much help with breakdowns even if they were not the fault of supercharger. With rig not bought from them they may give you trouble even if you did not have any upgrades to it. You saved money for sure as Dragon would tell you not just because of the value of aftermarket parts on it but, even more so money saved on the amount of labor it would have cost to do all the upgrades. I would make a rough conservative guess in investment of around $70,000 with cost of H2. Dragon could guess closer. The numbers I'm guessing would be if You had quite a few of good old boy deals from friends etc.
Make friends with a good local mechanic that can help determine the true problem if in the driveline area. If concrete trouble convert it to stock and take to dealer and then deal with cold shoulder just because you did not get it from them. They cannot in the end refuse to do warranty work but, they can jump You through a bunch of hoops before you get to the final result of repairs being done. The more I talk to different people I think one thing that i will stick with which has been my feeling is if dealing with buying a high end vehicle pay a little more and make friends with the dealer. If You buy the ride right then You may be able to afford the headaches.
The Ebay stock parts is a way to swap supercharger out before You take it in for serious problem. If you cannot do the swap yourself talk to a few mechanics and you may find some that are familiar with the work and not charge more than $300 to $400 to do it. It is quicker to go to stock than go to superchager. If you are sure that you have a serious problem before you go to dealer it will cost allot less to convert back to stock and get warranty.
Dragon and I have had my rig stripped down complete and back together so many times with upgrades Dragon is always coming up with and the few really off the wall ones i come up with we know the rig upside down inside out. We would not take it to dealer anyway even though they would not give us trouble about anything as their name is on it as a sponsor and we win at shows in the state they sponsor. Dragon is just real picky and a perfectionist that the dealer would not do good enough of a job. You should see just the sound and computer cableing laced together the way he does that You do get to see. Oh well that is a completely different story.
In case anyone reads this Dragon and I have been trying to get someone to loan us a SUT for a year now to do a slant back R&D but, they all keep not coming through on it. Dragon may have lost interest now. But, it sounds like in the other thread there is some good experience at making molds that could get job done. I question the use of fiberglass though depending on weight issue. Some of the flat truck caps are real heavy. The ones all have been looking at look to be a plastic type injection moulding. I'm talkng to a friend in Utah that has allot of experience in that area and if i can get him interested then we may start a company and get Tim or someone close in that area to be the test subject. The guy has allot going on though but, I have been working on him about it recently. It would be the challenge in his case that would be the only thing to interest him but, he could do it no problem. So cross a few fingers I will be seeing him soon and continue to try and gain his interest. Dragon can do it in the fiberglass and if it would not be so expensive carbo fiber also. He lays it but, as He explained it to me it would take a real big vacuum system for him to put cap in to get a good smooth surface or something like that. He explained how hard and not to cost effective for carbon fiber. I just thought it would look the best for any color You use it on. Fiberglass could at least be painted to match if wanted I guess.
OK that catch's me up for a month or so of not posting. Just wish KenP could push through the deal of my post counting for 10 in one. Oh well.
I hope a great New Year is in store for all.
