Any one have a heads up on the future fix for the noisy roof marker lights? When? What?

Last I heard was six to eight weeeks, but that was three weeks ago. Not only do they have to locate the problem, they also have to test the repair.

Locate the problem...that's simple - it's wind vibration that at speed forces it's way underneath the plastic form. All that needs to be done is to add a 'gasket' that prevents the wind from flowing through. Those that have had their lights installed by dealers that have had complaints about the problem usually have some sore of 'silicone' put there...not something I'm really interested in because it can be a mess. How about GM increasing the size and thickness of the foam 'gasket' they already use for the install...pretty simple.

One thing I'm sure they want to do is make it fail safe for the dealer to install. As for testing, I would be happy that they do some extensive testing to make sure the problem does not arise again.

Lobo take a look at this picture of my marker lights with a strip of door edge molding did the trick for me.

Thanks again...I looked at your previous post before adding weather stripping underneath mine....I was hoping for a fix that didn't show.

I've since taken my H3 by the dealership....I was going to add more weather stripping and found that one of my torq screws would not come out....I believe that it's because the insert they add to the roof is rotating freely.

Anyway - as of right now there is nothing GM would/could do for me. Since the roof marker lights are back on quarantine the can't replace them and you can't buy any of the parts individually.....finding that out after sitting at the dealership for 3 hours!

I expressed my concern over the possibility of any leaking? They didn't seem to think it would happen....?!?!!

So I'm back to square one....Waiting....so if anyone knows anything about the future fix of the roof marker light quarantine keep me posted....

Spoke with my dealer here in Concord, CA and he said the memo is out on the fix and they should be getting the parts soon. Some type or rubber molding. I put blue painters tape in the front of my marker lights and the noise stopped. Just couldnt take it anymore. Cant wait to get the part.
