Default Thule hitch bike carrier

I just picked up the Thule 998XT - Trailblazer hitch-mounted bike carrier. Thought I would share since it's not easy finding a carrier that clears the spare tire and allows access to the cargo area with bikes mounted. It was a bit steep at $409, but I'm very happy with the way it worked out. The similar Yakima model did not clear the tire without having to add a hitch extension.

Things I like:
+ Easy access to cargo area with bikes mounted.
+ No hitch extension needed.
+ Very sturdy.
+ Anti-sway bracket prevents bikes from hitting each other.
+ Integrated cable lock in arms for locking bikes.
+ Able to load bikes and access cargo area while in the garage (even with another vehicle in there). Unlike roof-top carriers.
+ Able to close garage door with rack attached (and I have one of the world's smallest garages).

This pic shows the clearance. Looks like it would work with 35's too.

The rack is secured to the hitch with a threaded bolt and lock-washer. There is a lock that covers the bolt so that the rack can not be removed.

Bike secured to the rack. There is a also a cinch strap that prevents front wheel movement. The cable lock is hidden in the rack arms when not in use.

Bike swung out for access to cargo area. There are pin positions in the hinge to lock it extended, or to simply prevent it from extending too far (too hit the vehicle, etc.) The top arm assembly rotates, too.
