OK, found a damn cool website that I now call Hummer Disney Land. It encompasses dessert areas and list ALL off-road trails, fishing, mines, must-sees and more. I am looking at an area called Anzo Borrego (but there are numerous others) that has incredible trails, fishing next door at salton sea where they say we can walk out with hundreds of talapia. So, here is the general link that has all southwestern areas http://www.desertusa.com/Thingstodo/du_ttd_auto.html . ANYONE who lives within a few hours should consider this as an event. Yes, I have talked to Steve R. about it and he likes it but thinks it's too hot right now. I am just trying to establish an area where we can get a decent number of hummer folk, do some other activities ie. fishing, mtn. biking, hiking, camping etc. It looks like we can put together a pretty cool event. If you have interest or input post it here first. If the interest is significant send me a private email and we will discuss.

Anzo Borrengo is a nice area. Very dry and desolet. Some nice things to see but i would recommend either Calico or Big Bear area. Big Bear has a lake that is has nice fishing and some mining trails that criss cross all around the mountains. There is hard to easy trails semi-close to civilaztion. Calico mountains has ALOT of abandoned mines that offer easy to very difficult trails. Hope this helps...

Rockyoda...I sent ya an email but have yet to hear from you.

Big Bear is a great area. I just had an advanced scout group hit it to find some good trails. They found a great one, but like ALL the trails up there.....it's full of nasty-ass manzanita that will reach-out and screeetch lines deep into your paint! Holcomb Valley is prime and White Mountain is the challenge. We can run a pre-run group with cutters up there real soon.

Anza is really nice, but everyone keeps telling me the hot desert is not in bloom now and better to hit it down the line.

We may run Jeep-Miller trail up in Gorman next week, and there's some area to explore up near Lake Elizabeth...I'll keep ya posted!

Good deal Manny,

If you have a GPS....track the trail!!!

If you don't....try to remember the area and we'll re-run it with the entire group!

Btw....I was just kidding about pre-running a trip to the tropicana. The manager says you've become a regular there!

Steve

I just took the "Big pine flat trail" Back behind Big Bear lake. The trail goes right through Holcomb valley. It was a 26 mile run took about 4 hours with a stop for lunch at Doble mine. The trail I took wasn't tough, I didn't even take off the tube steeps. It was a great day and the family loved it and the scenery was awesome. Later tonight or by tomorrow I will post some photo. My replacement H2 is lest then a week old and is covered in mud ( Big time )

Ya know....I've heard great things about that area...sounds like a real winner. Only problem is that my club loves some nasty stuff where the Hummers are challeneged!!!

We're going to check into some other trails up there. Do I have you on my email list????

I'm looking to get out this coming Thursday and do some offroading....anyone got any ideas?

Yes Steve, I’m on your e-mail list.
I’m the guy who posted all the photo from the support rally (Brian Mundy).
I’ve just change my screen name to “3D Guy”
