Does anyone know if you can purchase a new locking assembly for a gas cover. Some idiot squirted super glue or similiar substance in our locking mechanism. I was able to get it open, however, it is unusable now.

I saw a new gas cap that was remotely opened from inside. Not my personal kinda thing because it sticks out too far, but that should be a solution to your problem. Might happen to you again.

I don't remember where I saw it, but if interested let me know and I'll try to find it for you.

Take it off and soak it in acetone.
It may remove the chrome, but then just have it powdercoated like it should be.

Those are nice fuel doors, however I think $500.00 for one is a little steep.
