Default Engine Cleaning

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if it will be ok to wash the engine compartment with a hose, or even a pressure washer? got quite a bit of mud under teh hood. Getting in there with a sponge would be hell.

if not hose or pressure washer, then how do you guys clean yours? I know some of you dont care for a clean engine, but i want mine to be clean when on the streets.

thanks

I've soaked mine with the hose.
I used a rag with soap and warm water to clean up around the compartment and even the underside of the hood, to remove salt residue from the winter.

Rinse thoroughly, and then just wipe everything down to remove the puddling. The rest will air dry. Give it about a half an hour and start it up. The fan and pullys will remove the rest of the standing water and the heat of the motor will dry up everything else.

definately will be careful. i wont go crazy with the hose, just on the real tough spots. i'll get before/after pics but i already cleaned the top and the easy spots with a sponge.
