Bad Smell
I have noticed over the course of the last month that the air conditioner smells bad. I have tried everything from smelly things from Kirklands, to no rolling the windows down, recirculating the cabin air, and spraying cologne. I do know that the moisture builds up inside the air ducts and if you do no run the regular air through them after the cold air moisture has hit, then mildew can form. I have done this, but still I have the problem. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you get rid of it? Thanks in advance.....Jamie

GET SOME DR MASSIGILLS MIX IT IT UP TURN ON THE AC FULL BLAST SPRAY THE DUECH MIX IN TO THE AC INTAKE (THE VENTS AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE H2)IT WILL THAN GET SUCKED IN TO ALL THE HVAC VENTS AND KILL THE BACTERIA THUS ELIMINATEING THE SMELL. ON A SIDE NOTE ONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD HIS WIFE TO CREMATE HIM WHEN HE DIES AND THAN TAKE THE ASHES AND PUT THEM IN A DUECH AND RUN HIM THROUGH ONE MORE TIME .

Re: Bad Smell
Same thing happened to me about a year ago. I finally looked under the hood and found where some smarta$$ had laid a dead Prius across my exhaust manifold...
Seriousy, about 2 years ago I brought my mother's MB 300 home to clean up. Mom smokes like a chimney (75 years old) and that freakin' thing smelled like a crematorium---the car not mom. Also had some moldy smoky smell coming from the vents. I sprayed Ozium freshener, regular scent, (available @ Wally World, etc...love this stuff) in the vent openings outside at the cowl and then followed up with some GM Odor Eliminator (PN 12378554) sprayed in the same vents. Keep the air on @ full HI during the process. Repeat for a couple of days and it usually takes care of the problem.

Re: Bad Smell
I think we finally found out where Kaz's stinky azz has been hiding....
Now if we can all get together and help Jamie pry her fat azz out of the A/C system... Maybe we can use a winch... It would have to ba a 15,000 one to "pull" it off.

Re: Bad Smell
I think if she were the culprit, the front of the truck would definately dip in the front.

Re: Bad Smell
Don't run the a/c on the recirculate mode.
You have to dry out whate ever is damp and stinky in there

Re: Bad Smell

I don't know much about the H2 HVAC system and how to clean it or de-odorize it.
Try some water and bleach water. Can you pour it in the fresh air intakes

I'm kinda scared to pour any kiind of fluid into the air condition system. Does it need to be a fine spray or is just pouring it ok?

Re: Bad Smell
What happens when it rains?
Also make sure the the drain isn't plugged with leaves etc. The drain should be under the hood back toward the fire wall and heater
Sorry I don't have an H2 so I can't give your any more advice

Re: Bad Smell
Chemical solutions are usually only a temporary solution since the bacteria will come back. Some vehicles are equipped with an afterblow function that helps to cure he problem.
Some areas are more prone to this problem. Some vehicle are also more prone.
