I was on the edge of a decision to buy an H3 for my business when I discovered that the rear seats don't seem to fold down all the away to allow a full flat cargo floor. The seat bottoms go forward and down but do not rotate up to allow the seat backs to come down all the way. The sales guy could only say that some people are talking about building a platform to cover the seat backs (???????)

Am I getting this right? I know that there are a whole bunch of other reasons to like this vehicle, but I really do need a large cargo area for cases of wine and beer for the business. Perching some on an angle doesn't cut if for me.

What do you guys do for larger items of cargo? A friend has an H2 and he says his seats do fold down flat. Strange design on the H3 if I'm getting the straight story.

Agreed,
Im not pleased but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I think it was shorted sighted not to resolve that. I have an 02 silverado crew cab and those back seats fold flat. Not a lot of capacity there tho.

Even my first car an s10 blazer had a seat folded flat.

JUST BUY IT!!!! I fell in love on day three.....it grows on you.

It's a "flat enough" thing...the leather is not as flat as the cloth.

just buy it.

I get the "just buy it!" thing..... this vehicle is pretty hard to walk away from. But, seriously, do I just pile casesof wine in there at whatever angle. Won't putting weight on the seat backs mess up the upholstery or worse?

It really isn't any different than putting weight on any see that folds down this way.

I can take care of the wine for you.

No, the weight should not affect the seat.

did you make sure you pulled the lower section of the rear seat forward before you folded the back of the seat down? I have leather seats and have folded the rear seats down on several occasions and they fold pretty darn flat!

Murph,

Sure I did. But the seat backs definitely do not come down anything close to flat compared with other SUVs. The salesman didn't even try to persuade me otherwise.
