Dont fill gas on may 15th...
Fowarded to me by a friend its all over the internet if you havent past it yet. Its in protest of these gas prices im sick of paying 3.00 dollars a gallon and im sure you are too. even if you fill up the day before thats fine, its to show that we can organize and do something about it, and to see the reaction of the gas companies when suddenly no one fills up that day. pass this on and tell everyone you know!!!
...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon and continues to go up daily.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average cartakes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th

3Hummer.. you're a mad man!! If we did that, the entire gas supply network would back up, tankers would have no place to empty their load, pipelines would backup, reserves would overfill. Millions of gallons would need to be reconditioned!! That plan would guarantee at least a double of the current prices for about 2 weeks while they recover, not to mention a shortage for a little while as they'd have to stop to recover.

Good one...recondition the fuel.... Almost, but not quite as funny as the original message.

What would happen if we didn't buy milk for a day?
I dunno, but everyday you should avoid buying gas from Citgo and Petro-Express.

Even if all that didn't happen, eventually, if you drive, you must buy gas. Thus, all the gas that was not sold on May 15 would be sold either soon before or soon after May 15. The only way to affect the supply/demand curve is for millions of people to use less gas over a long period of time. That means millions of people either driving a small deathtrap or driving fewer miles. I don't think that will significantly happen until it gets closer to $4/gal. A lot of people who try to do this will probably find mass transit increasingly overcrowded and the associated rates rising for that as well. Thus, they will probably just buy less other stuff and keep buying gas.

Don't try to bring your logic in here! It's not welcomed.

Re: Dont fill gas on may 15th...
lol this is a good idea. But it will never work, As someone else pointed out everyone who has a car needs to fill it sooner than later. If everyone didnt by on the 15th it would just mean they would top off the day before or the day after so it would make no difference at all. Good idea till you use your brain and think about it.
