Unbelievable
A few months back I got the Truxx leveling kit installed(By a GM dealer). Well a few days ago I heard some clicking, I stopped pulled over and saw my front passenger tire now tilted in. When I got home I looked and saw the axel boot all ripped apart. I got the truck to the Hummer dealer and find out that both front axels are broke and because I have the leveling kit on it, its not covered under warranty. Now I have a $1200 repair and they tell me that if I don't do something about the kit it will just happen again.
What a f@#$ing joke this leveling kit is

Re: Unbelievable
..maybe you've beaten crap out of your axels while off-roading heavily? Could that happen? Either way, curious what outcome of this is going to be - wonder what the manufacturer of the leveling kit is going to say - did you tell them yet?

Re: Unbelievable
Jared,
Your truck is immaculate. Really hope you get somewhere with that. If they leave you high and dry bitch up a storm...
Good luck man!

Re: Unbelievable
man how many miles you put on the rig with the kit before this happened and did you have yours all the way up to level (24.25")?
Ive had the same kit on mine for about 2 months (5,000 miles) and my 35's should be here tomorrow. Dont tell me I need to let her back down and keep those little stockers on there

Re: Unbelievable
BTW, your dealer is an arse for now honoring the warranty. Any good dealer would replace it under warranty. However, those truxx kits do cause you to raise it beyond what I would have done with just the Bilstein shocks and cranking the TBs

Re: Unbelievable
I'd be a little upset about the fact that you had a GM dealer perform the install and now they are not working with you on the repair. I talked to my local dealer and when I asked about a lift they said "as long as you order it and have it shipped here and let us install it for you, it won't void any warranty work." I haven't done it yet, but I would hope they are being honest with me.

Re: Unbelievable
My dealer told me the same thing. They even had one on the lot with the readylift installed for sale. But they wanted $900 for the level kit! So I just cranked my t-bars, bought nicer(imo) wheels and tires, and saved myself $2400 by doing it myself by the time you add in the cost of the wheels/tires/level kit they had. Park the two trucks next to each other and they look identical height wise.

Exactly! That's why I originally had the dealership crank my t-bars and install my 35's. Sure I paid more, but they never gave me crap on warranty issues.

The kits usually have re-indexed torsion bar keys (the part you adjust) and some have shock extension brackets. All the keys do is change the amount of adjustment you can make. They're not necessary as there is enough adjustment with the stock keys to get the front end level.

Re: Unbelievable
To add to what Sewie said, the kits with the shock extension brackets require you to crank a minimum amount so your vehicle sits high enough so you aren't riding on bottomed out shocks. This "mimimum amount" is actually a lot on the H3 due to the design of the lower shock mount design.

so the leveling kit adds more stress onthe front end components, axle shafts etc.

Fixed.
I have the inclination that there's more to this story than is being told....
