H1Hummer Owner is off the scale

My wife was driving our H1 the other day. While heading down a multi-lane street, a "car" pulled along side her....and honked.

Assuming it was a friend saying hi, she looked over and the male owner, flipped her the finger.

Our little Eco-Warrior....was driving a...

Suburban.

He obviously, doesn't know our H1 gets about 4-5 MPG more than his Suburban.

Yes, I've just started to encounter some animosity for hummers now that I'm joining groups in hopes of hooking up with some trail-riding partners. On Colorado4x4.org, a guy with a Toyota FJ40 referred to the H1 as a "gas-guzzling pig". I get 16 on the highway and off-road, I can idle over stuff all day on half-a-tank. Being new here, I guess I'll post my hopes for hooking up in this "general" category??

As Dan Micks put it: "H1's are big, loud, they smell bad...what's not to like!"

The HML/web forum on http://www.humvee.net is the friendliest forum IMO.

Amen to that! If I wanted a small, cute, good on gas CAR, I'd own a Suzuki Swift. Oh that's right, I do...

Me too, my wife is planning to get one maybe next year. It's good for bonding with our only son.

I am now preparing to start the canvassing of a cheap Swift this afternoon. I'll be back later.
