Default Rear Wiper Replacement

Do you have to remove the spare tire to replace the rear wiper? If not, how do you replace it?

Just replaced mine... along with the fronts. Using the Rain X Lattitude.
The rear was a pain to get off. I just bent the old blade frame wide enough to slip over the "J" hook. The new one slides right on.

It is a pain to get off, but it can be done. The easy way is to remove the spare tire.

CAUTION* Make ure you put a nice thick bath towell or = on the glass to prevent yourself from snapping the bare arm onto and cracking or scratching the glass.

Turn the wiper on and stop it in the half way spot and slide the old BLADE down and proceed to cut or bend it with plyers.

It's either that or remove the rear tire. If any one else has and easier way ..jump on in..

They don't make a Lattitude for the rear ..It looks like an OEM Blade. Here's the Site selectin Chart..

I put Rain X Prep on the Glass and with the new blades it works sweet. Consumer Reports rated Rain X number 2 but it beat out Number 1 Valeo 600 as it lasted 6 months.

Don't know if this link will work as you need a subscription..

You don't need to cut or bend anything or remove the tire, just put the rear wiper on the fastest setting, remove the key from the ignition and just open your door when the wiper is in the top position (that'll stop it), then just pop it off and replace. It's a little hard, but not impossible.

It's definitely a bitch to get off, took a few mins of trying and trying but I eventually got it unhooked. Getting the wiper in the right position is fun too

Replaced mine over the summer. No, you don't have to remove the tire. But, yes, it's a little puzzle on how to get it off. I think the issue is that the bracket just barely fits the wiper, which leads me to...

When I replaced the blade, I bought the $15 blade form the dealer. This was the cheaper non OEM blade. Turns out, it doesn't fit. The H3's bracket is just too wide/thick? to fit into the blade. I took it back. They wanted about $24 for the OEM blade. No thx.
Went to auto store the next day and bought a blade there, and put it on in the parking lot to make sure it fit. That one was about $11 if I remember correctly.

Good luck.
