I know it seemed like a dumb question. I am not an H2 owner yet, so I am not that familier with the stock radio. I am planning on being an owner the day after my current lease ends.
Has anybody installed a Pioneer AVIC-D1 in their Hummer? And if so will On Star still work?
Pictures?
Thanks

About the stock '03 radio;
I'm about half deaf, so the audio system is fine for me BUT - the reception, especially AM, SUCKS!!! It was already bad with the stupid stock antenna setup, but with the rack and lights up there it is even worse. So.....
Has anyone upgraded a stock '03 system to the newer side mounted antenna? And maybe a better sheilded antenna cable? How hard was it to do and how much did it cost?
I miss RUSH and HANNITY!!!

When I complained about the horrible reception Hummer supposedly re-ran the antenna wiring (doubtful...?) but it made no improvement to the quality.
I can tell you that the '05 is MUCH better reception -- hopefully, there is someone out here that has experience with the antenna "upgrade". Good luck -- you're certainly not alone!

The side mount antenna is the first thing that catches brush. It whacks the windshield and makes a reverberating boing sound like something out of a cartoon. I took mine off months ago and have no plan to put it back on.

It isn't! It's in bed of the truck laying loose. I pushed one of those plastic screw looking things into the threaded antenna hole to keep junk out.
Thanks to a near-continuous committee of the mind, I rarely have the capacity to absord radio input. When I do, it's XM.
I catch Sean on TV and if I feel like a little Rush, I cop a downer from the domestic help or catch his rants on the web.

ROFLMFAO
My #$%^*ing XM cuts in and out constantly. Seriously, breaking news on Fox sounds like this on my XM;
A man discharged a gun at the White House today. President Bush was.....his spokesman said...........the DC police had the man........when the President..........and the First Lady was............Vice President Cheney will............after the..............
It makes me INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess I should have it looked at, huh?

Mine used to do that. Then I took the Gobi wind fairing off and it's all better. Truck looks better, too.
