Factory DVD Problem
Hi,
I just bought a used 2006 H2 and it came with the factory headrest monitors and DVD player in the center console. I bought the H2 from a GM dealer (non-Hummer dealer) that didn't know too much about Hummers and thought the DVD player was missing. The DVD player skipped somewhat when I tried to play some DVDs for the kids so I thought it may have been worn out or damaged. I purchased a new factory player on eBay that was the correct model # and version # for an exact replacement. I did the replacement and powered it up. Now, anytime I put a DVD in the player, and it doesn't matter which title it is, it says bad disk and I get no video. The factory remote works well with the replacement unit but it won't play DVDs. This IS a brand new unit as it came with everything including the harness (minus the headrests). My question is.... does GM do some sort of anti-theft protection that keeps you from swapping out the player? Any help is very much appreciated. Dave
