Default Can someone look under there transmission and help me??

I have a 2009 H3.

I was underneath it today and noticed there are two holes on the underside of the transmission.

I know the larger hole (about 1 1/4" round) takes a thin aluminum plug that pushes in to cover it.

My question is this....does any type of plug go into the smaller hole (about 1/3" round) or is this one open all the time?

Thanks!!!!

I don't have a 2009 but my 2008 Alpha transmission only has a drain plug. Can't believe any transmission is supposed to have an open hole. What do you think would happen to the transmission fluid if this was the case? Are you sure you are looking at the transmission?

I think it is the transmission. There are two holes in it. One has a very thin metal plug that just pushes into the larger hole. The plug does not fit tight at all. There is a smaller hole next to it. There isn't any plug in it. I am trying to figure out if the smaller hole needs a plug.

I assume it is the transmission I am talking about. It is the big silver colored case under the car.

WOW! That is it!

I really appreciate you taking the time to figure this out for me!

The info made it easy for me to call my dealer and order that part. They were amazed I had teh exact description and number for the plug!

Thanks again!!!!!
