Me, Spike and Oldhiker took a drive down to Blue Ridge Mountains in VA this week. Beautiful place but we had too much fog.

H2 looks cool disappearing and emerging from the fog.

Despite camping in the cold damp weather we managed to have a great time. That surely is a beautiful part of the country (when you can see it).

When you can't see the top of your wrap around grill guard while driving then you know there is fog! Thats how it gets down I-5 in the winter.
I do have to say it always looks good to see a couple H2's together on the road...

Hey, that's not Big Meadows is it? I wish I could have made it Guys. Post more pics please. What did you do? Drink? Hike? And where were you going?
Spike, your truck looks good without the steps.

Yeah! Steps off, stock rims back on, you're ready to wheel that thing!!
Looks like a good time guys. Nice place to camp too. What, no hurricane??
I know what they did Ken. Zing poked the fire and the resulting smoke went into Oldhiker's eyes while Spike was gettng another peanut out of the bag.

Ha ha! That's exactly what we did! We had originally planned a 3-day backpacking hike but the weather sucked too much. So we just hung out and did a short hike, went out to eat, drank some beers.
Ken, we camped at Lewis Mountain, maybe 8 miles south of Big Meadows. We didn't take many pictures on account of the weather.
Next time we plan a trip I'll notify the forum; our trips are a more precise forecast of rain than anything the national weather service has.

Where in VA was that? I live in Roanoke, which is right along a part of the Blue Ridge.

Is that the type of fog that that you see when your going over the Cascade Pass into Portland? I remember that stuff being brutal at times.

Sklyine Drive, about the middle of Shenandoah State Park.

Just like Zing said, there is no better way to guarantee rain then when Zing, Pops and I get together. We did have a good time in spite of the lousy weather. Our 3 day back country hike and camping plans went down the drain. So we went to plan B, drinking and hanging around. Many thanks to "Pops", "The voice of reason". If he wasn't there we would probably still be wandering around the woods lost in the fog. Also good job to Zing for managing to get a fire going everyday in the rain.

No, it's worse. It's the nastiest fog I've ever seen.
