Default NICE GAS MILEAGE

with 4 gallons left in the tank, i just did 325 miles -- nyc driving, country and freeway. i think thats pretty good for an 07 lux with auto and the ac going more now that its summer. i have about 3500 miles on it. i also really love the amazingly tight turning circle. no problems yet so i consider it a gr8 vehicle.

Wow great mileage. It happens sometimes with the H3. Lately my commute has been mostly city in heavy traffic, mpg 13-14.

15 mpg on my last tank, almost all city driving. Still upwards of 16-17 on the highway (with a loaded up roof rack). at 36k, I'm happy with that...

I am loosing mpg with the extreme heat here lately. I also notice the 3.7 heats up a little faster with the temp gauge going to near H in long idel.

Is that a sign of a problem (temp gauge going near H), sound like trouble...

Farg it.. I get about 15 MPG. I go 9 miles one way to work. 1/2 city the other 1/2 is Xpress way @70 mph.

I've run the gas needle to the right edge of the little red hash mark on the gauge at the bottom. But I've always been chicken and a scar-dy cat when it comes to going to the end of the red.

How far in the red have you gone... or have you gone below red..

Reminds me of Crammer in Sienfield on the test drive with the car salesman..

a tank or two after putting 35s on and doing pcm for less thing, i had 13 mpg. now on this last tank i got 19.876 gallons on 204 miles. 10.2636 mpg. but you gota remember that i have 60 percent congested city driving, and 40 percent highway which is even worse, most of the time its stop and go 30 miles at no more than 10-15 mph.

maybe this one was just a bad tank, hehe.

haha the first thing i thought of when i read your post was that seinfeld episode. i have had the red covered by the needle, and a little red peaking over the top, but have never cleared the red, i would go crazy if that was to happen, would be looking for gas stations like a crack addict lookin for a fix.

I noticed my temp getting close to H also. called my service guy and he said with the temps in the 100's and running a/c its considered normal operating range. he said nothing to worry about. only time to worry is if it hits the red.

I had a Jeep Cheroke that did that. I ran it hard for about 200 miles at high speed in the Mojave desert in the summer, temp needle almost touched red the entire time, and no ill effects.
