Default Delta Fog lights vs. Driving lights

I'm tired of my nasty OEM DRL housings, half the reflector is burned away at the top. The LED towers I installed makes them look 1,000 times better but I want something that looks even better.

I plan to buy the non-HID Delta set and eventually retrofit in some HID's like PDX did.

However here are my questions:

-what is the difference between the fog light and driving light sets? I thought I read somewhere around here the driving lights are fluted glass while the fogs are smooth??

-do these lights directly install into the factor mounting holes or is there modification requred to the back of the bumper?

-says it comes with a stand alone harness and relay kit. So do these plug into the factory harness at all or is there cutting and splicing required??

-Fogs show an H3 bulb for the light source, is that the same for the driving lights?

That being said I don't mind modifying or doing electrical work obviously if you've seen my build thread. At the same time I like to keep the electrical as close to stock as possible in regards to the plugs, etc in case I ever want to reverse the mods.

Basically I want the Deltas to function exactly like the factory DRL's we have (with the DRL mod most of us have).

Thanks in advance, and pics if you've got'em!!

I know the DRL OEM bulb # is 4114. I replaced mine to LED last summer. I am also wanting to upgrade these to a PIAA 510 (as I read on here that is an exact fit).
I'll keep checking back to see if you get any answers or pics as I am curious as well.

I also replaced mine with LED towers quite a while ago and looks great.

I always forget about the PIAA 510's. I need to do some research about how they mount and hook up. The Deltas are out as I don't want to hack up the mounting portion of the bumper in case I ever go back stock.

If the 510's mount without issue that's definitely the route to go.

best info I could find, most of the threads are repeat info.

http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...light=PIAA+510

Looks like everyone is just taking the mounting bolt and flipping it to point backwards and using that one bolt to mount through the factory bolt hole.

A couple have mentioned using large washers on either side of the factory mounting hole to give the plastic some rigidity so the light isn't bouncing around.

Good thread. I just wish I could see a pic of what they looked like in the bumper (front view).

Looks like the 510's are the winner!

they're supposed to fit perfect, apparently there is a little gap if you don't use the rock guards but with the guards on there isn't a gap.

I think its the best route without having to hack up the mounting holes for the Deltas.

Now just to find a pair of 510's for a decent price....

I would love to see a picture of the PIAA 510 fitted into the DRL location in an H2
