Re: replacement tire?
Switch to a street tire if the noise bothers you. The BFGs are really quiet compared to other offroad tires. I have toyos oc mt now which I think are pretty quiet also for an offroad tire. They last a hell of alot longer than the bfgs.

Are you comparing the wear of the Toyo MTs to the BFG MTs? or the ATs?
In my experience the stockers (ATs) seem to last forever...almost 68,000 before I switched and they a still had enough tread for prolly 10,000 more street miles. The BFG MTs are another story...I'm at 119,000 and already halfway through my second set. I've thought about going back to ATs...but maybe I need to look at Toyos.

The stock ATs. The bfgs have good wear. The first year of having my rig had a decent amount of wear, going into the second michigan winter...definately could tell a difference in traction from reduced tread depth. I've had the toyos on for 3 years. Powdercoated my rims number of months back, the brand new spare did not easily jump out at me compared to the other 4 tires. The rubber nipples havn't even fallen off.
Both are great tires...I feel the toyos are better.

Re: replacement tire?
A friend of mine (he has an H3) just recently got the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's, they are very aggressive looking and suprisingly very quiet. They look like they would be considerably better off road and in the snow than the stock BFG's.

The biggest I see those is 33x12.5x15s...too small.
I like their look though...

Re: replacement tire?
I've had several 4 X 4s and the OEM BFs are about the best lasting and quietest you will find for the H2. I had Goodyear MTs and they were about the loudest tire I've ever owned, but great in the mud and deep snow. The Nittos are louder than the BFs and wear faster. Lots of tire reviews here if you use the search function. I've been very happy with the BFs and got 50,000 miles out of my OEM set.
