Default Undercarriage Rust Solution Options

Well I brought home my SUT this week. I have spent the last few nights detailing the interior and exterior. My truck sat on the Hummer lot for about 3 months and shows a lot of surface rust on the undercarriage and frame. I have searched this forum and spoke to the dealership.

What are my options? I have searched the forum and found a few options and the dealer suggested rustolem.

Thanks

What I did was acquired a wire brush, brushed the exposed pieces. If the parts were painted, I first sprayed with paint remover, let sit for about 5 hours, then brushed off. After that I washed it, and dired throughly, then applied primer. I let that sit for about 2 hours, then sprayed again. After about another 4 hours, I sprayed with black barbecue grill paint (the stuff that is high heat rated). After 2 coats of that, I ten applied several coats of clear lacquer to seal it up. I know it sounds like alot, but I also did my truck before the H2 like tis, and it (undercariage) looked new when I sold it. Just my .02 Jamie
