after seein the other guys post about the ebay mcculloch HID's i had to get me some as well! 299 with free shipping of the 8000k HID setup. Its pretty sweet. installation is pretty easy too! you just unplug your lights and plug the new ones in with the new wires that plug into your factory lightbulb plug.
heres my pics

this is of the standard lights at 1130 at night, ill take a new one tonight with the hid's

here is the only thing i dont like about the kit, and its the power cables that interface directly to your old plug.. they should make a harness that comes with the kit, notice this is the proper wiring for the low beam, notice the colored cables and thei positions.

this is of the standard lights at night

and here are the new HID's

inside the cab

So the whole thing is just plug in? There is no additional wiring?

CORRECT you do not need to cut wires or anything, and you can revert to stock by simply replacing the bulbs and plugging them back into the original plugs! it makes this kit very attractive! a second one for the foglights may be an idea

Are these bulbs like the SILVERSTARS? I have those in my H2 and they were a significant improvement over the stock bulbs. However, I'd still like true Xenon lights, though the install and replacement costs are insane. I had them on a BMW X3 and they did that swivel with the steering wheel thing, and they were very helpful at night. Would be nice to see that on the stock Hummers.

I have to ask too, are you blinding anyone with these? I find that I get flashed high beams much more often with my Silverstars in. I've passed my car head on too while like my mom was driving it, and I have to say that the lights were uncomfortably bright. (Why I also like factory Xenons: they adjust their broadcast angle depending on the angle of the road to help keep them out of oncoming cars eyes.)

Nice, these ligts are so nice especially around here where it is real gray and hard to see the wet roads. I has some of these on my old BMW Z3 and was pulled over by the Issaquah police. I never replaced them but it gives the cops here a reason to bother you. (Not that you would ever do anything wrong Wannabe)

HIDs are xenons or xe- gas with an applied charge. moreover, they auto level. your lights are basically much brighter halogens with a new wiring harness so it doesn't melt. sorry. they seem bright though. but not true HIDs.

they are HID's end of discussion. they look nothing like halogens, the only thing these dont have are the auto levelers. but they are the same lights you would find in any bmw nissan or mini.

I'd say it's safe to call them HID's. They are, after all, High Intensity Discharge headlamps regardless. (However, if there's a filament in there, they techincally are supercharged halogens, buring at a high temperature and color.) If WannabeH3 called them Xenons, then I'd have a problem too. Xenons are as mentioned an arc of electricity through xenon gas, of which the arc is what actually produces the light. Pretty cool, but extremely expensive to buy and replace. I cringe when I see a car with a burned out Xenon. It's usually around $700-$1,000 for a new one, since the entire head unit must be replaced, or so I've been told.

20 minutes. they replace your stock bulbs then you plug them in, attatch the ballasts to the inside of the engine bay with 2 sided tape and hook them up the way i did in my pictures, then finish with electrical tap to insulate and prevent the plugs from falling out of the stock harness

let me just say that these things are hella bright and i got the 8000k bulbs which are really purple.. if i could do it over again i would try the 5000k. you also lose high beam capabilities, so if you flash someone with high beams your lights just turn off, as these bulbs dont have dual filaments (or any filament)

If there's not filament (I can't really tell in the pic), then you have true Xenons. An arc of electricity should travel through the center buldge creating light. Otherwise, you have a halogen bulb, much like what you might put in a flood light outside.

See here for an explanation

I don't really care if they are or aren't Xenons, though I don't like to see people duped by the HID/Xenon false claims.
