It sounds like a supplier problem, but which supplier. The main (first tier supplier) may have the problem, or if there are second and third tier suppliers they may have the problem. Test vehicles did not have this problem, and it does not appear to be on every vehicle made. So, somewhere in the line, a supplier has a problem, and it might take time to find out where and get it fixed.
Not sure what they are doing for repairs, not even sure what the problem is.
Someone said the dealer took off the cover and metal fell out, another said the dealer told him he can drive until the new axle comes in. Sounds to me like there is more than one problem.
