Ok, I'm ready to start upgrading my new H2.
I purchased Edlebrock headers, and new Cats and Xtreme flow exhaust www.xtremeflow.com.
I go down to my local exhaust shop and they tell me:
"Headers will burn up your cats"
"The cats you have are as good as they come"
"Any modification to the exhaust before the cats will void your warranty"
Is there any truth to these statements. Just want to get another opinion.

Well, considering there are headers that the dealer installs and is approved by GM, I would get another opinion.

I agree with PARAGON.
I put catback headers etc. and My dealer said no problem with warranty.
I would find a performance exhaust shop to talk to.
My dealer even said go on and get supercharger We will not let effect Your warranty or extended warranty.

That's all a load of crap. To void warranty, the mods must be done withing the long block, or a secondary power adder must be used. The cats you buy will be worlds better than the stockers, and will not get burned up by exhaust headers.

So what happened to the other truck... You know, the one that was all built up and had a great looking Gobi rack on it?

Well after the transmission went out, the dealer talked me into trading up for an 05. We moved everything, (Gobi rack, XTC lightbar, Winch, front and rear connections). Lift and tires went with old truck. Still deciding if I'm gonna lift the new one or just put 37's on it. Also have supercharger in box waiting to install... need some additional parts to change from 03 to 05.
