I can't live with the engine whine anymore. Happens no matter what source I am playing. Did not start until after I had the VSS wire hooked up. Taking it back to the installer this week. Any suggestions on what to tell them? (Other than get the thing fixed)

Try a power filter on the switched or constant 12v sources and see if that helps.

Add the noise filter, and have the installer twist the power/ground wires(make them look like a pretzel). Also--make sure they're using the ground stud under the driver side kick panel--using the dash carrier for a ground isn't ideal.
