You like it or you don't. It has a FTS lift with King off road shocks and lots of bling for those ot you who hate it.

I hope you get pissed off and blast it. People stop and stare and yes, that is why I built it that way.

H2_SUT_SC:

The lift is a 6.5" lift from Full Throttle Suspension----then tweaked up to 8" using new torsion bar keys. I know the guys at FTS well so let me know if you are interested. The tires add another 3 inches of lift. My H2 is 36" from ground to the door sill.

The wheels are 18 X 10--they are available in 12" width but the offset does not work well on the H2--I could have used spacers but them the tires would stick out disproportionatly.

I am a nut about lifts/tires/wheels so PM me if you want more info. I build these rigs for show but they ride like stock. Certainly with a higher center of gravity, they do not handle as well, but new sway bars will surpise folks on how well it does handle. It is in the tweaking of the keys for lift, a great front end mechanic and adjustment of the sway bars that do the trick. Fifteen & an half inches of soft rubber really makes the stearing nible--something I am still getting used to.

Here is my mug shot on a 20" lift with 49" tires built by FTS-I am 5' 11" and it is a bitch to get into--obviously can't use it much but their 6.5, 9, and 12 inch kits work for everyday. The 6.5 tweaked or the 9 work better at shows because some people will actually install them

Their kits void your powertrain warranty---but it reality, all lift kits will get a hassle from a dealer if you blow something.

I think your H2 looks sweet lifted with those wheels. Now you just have to tell us all how to keep our H2's clean like that! BIG-C

Spike:

The tires are really quiet---much more than I expected. With the windows closed, you do not even know the difference.

I had ProComp 37's on it before--they were quiet too. Due to the large tread pattern, it feels jerky at 1-3 MPH--after that, they ride great.

H2mildandwild,
Overall, I have to say I like the rig alot. I especially like those tires. Are they noisy on the road? As far as the "jiz" on the tires you might want to try that STP Son of a
Gun. I use it only on my tires after washing them and I like it because it brings the tires back to a deep black without all the shine. It makes them look like they did when they were new. Here is a link to pics I posted after putting new rims on and there is a close up of my tire with that STP on.

I'd like to see pics of it after you paint the mirrors to match the body color, I think that would look good. On a similar note you might want to think about painting the door handles and door buckets to match the body paint also. That was how my red Chevy Avalanche was set up and that looked good that way.

Mld/wld

I think your Hummer looks nice. Nothing wrong with a show truck, and I know I would kick butt off road should you choose to use it that way too, nothing wrong with increasing the breakover angle. Everything is a give and take with lifts.

Just wondering if the pinion angle is a problem due to the lift?

That's a very pretty show rig. If you keep it in the garage under plastic it'll be much easier to keep clean.

Best of luck at the mall.

To All:

I will send pics as the truck makes progress.

To answer the pinion angle question---I am a fuss pot about pinion angle. The FTS kit I got includes a longer front driveshaft which IS a must on all lift kits as far as I am concerned.

The rear angle is different from stock but is almost compensated for by the angle of the rear changing upward. On larger lifts, you need an extended rear driveshaft also. Do not let anyone tell you differently.

I install these kits and milder ones on other H2s and trucks. I am adressing the final pinion angle once it gets warmer here and I get my lift (garage lift).

If anyone is interested, I will tell you about what adjusting torsion bars does to your rig--be careful with the adjustment or face issues related to camber, sway bar adjustments and u-joints. Hell on tires, stablity, and u-joints.

Ok, now that pic deserves a big "DAMN!!!"

Good info on the lift. I saw one guy on here that has 40's on a 4" lift. I was hoping to possibly go with 38x15's on a 4" lift sometime in the future after I get bored with the 325/60R20s. I heard Nitto is coming out with additional tire sizes for a 20" rim and Toyo already has them. Both of their mud tires look sweet as does the MT.

Thanks for the observation on the mirrors---I am having billet bases made up (lower only) and then painting the mirrors to match the paint color.

Here is a front--will take a back soon.

I am getting the skid plate chromes now to make up the black space along with a chrome front and rear bumper and tow hooks--the rig will also get some OEM yellow paint here and ther to blend the truck correctly.
