Torque Management is the computer restricting power output from the engine to prolong driveline life.

COT - Cat (catalytic convertor) Over Temperature. When the cats get to hot, the computer dumps a lot more fuel in to cool the whole process down.

ECT - Electronic Throttle Control. Fly by wire - computer controls the throttle blade / gas pedal is just a sensor.

When the CATS get hot, the worst thing that can be done is dump fuel in... too much unburnt fuel melts the CATS and clogs them... while you are correct on the meaning, the process is off.
