Smile F/S: Exterior Spare Tire Carrier

I recently converted my 07 H2 exterior spare tire carrier to the interior one and have all the parts and bolts for the exterior type. Asking $400 plus shipping.

Is this an OEM rear tire carrier? Any pictures so I can get an idea of the current wear and tear?

Thanks

Yes, its the OEM tire carrier. I can send you pics, no problem. Let me know what email address you would like me to send them to.

The carrier is in really great shape. I'll also try and get a few close ups too!

I did. Thanks. However I'm not sure my spare will fit this style rear carrier. 22'' rim with 335/55/22 BFG MT

Does it use latch or pin closure? Did it include wiring for license plate on the spare? I'm looking for the set up in the attached photo:

Yes, its the same carrier as the one in the pic you posted above......it uses the pin closure for safety but its secured by the latch. It also comes with the wiring for the license plate light and has the cover for the plate. Email me your address and I will send you pics of it.

2005+ H2's had the new latch style tire carrier (introduced with the SUT, which had them as standard equipment). The older 03-04 models with tire carriers were produced by an aftermarket supplier for AM General and had the pin style. Go for the new style if you can get one...this 2007 would be the one to get if you want to convert to an external carrier I just installed an 06 carrier and love it. Really easy to use and great fit.

Red face Re: F/S: Exterior Spare Tire Carrier

Thanks Indy for the clarification.............

Mine came off my '07. Its the latch type just as its pictured. I converted mine to the interior style like the 03-05 models had.

I knew I didn't want it if it was the same type that was on my '03. The '06 I have now was originally sold with the later model carrier, but previous owner removed the spare carrier prior to selling it.
