I just installed a Pioneer AVIC-N1, Pioneer CD-IB100 Ipod adapter, Pioneer GEX=910XM and a Soundgate REMPIDGM dIGISTAR-x v2 Steering wheel control in my 04 H2. It works great except for the control of the Onstar. When I try to avtivate the Onstar from the wheel, the stereo goes into ATT mode. I cannot control the volume of the Onstar. Do any of you have these components. Any of these problems? Know of a better steering wheel control? I have checked the dip switches and they seem to be correct. The only other thing I lost was the chime for driver memory set.

LoLo...You can install the H2 factory touch screen Nav and XM. Dealer will tell you it can't be done, but many of us here have done it. Do a find for "nav" or "TNR" and XM. You'll find many posts from Klaus and others on accomplishing this. You can buy the complete set from jpcustom and just have a good shop install it.

Thanks for all the replies, I am off to scout camp for a week. I will let you know how things work out when I get back. I am still waiting on some info from PAC, Metra, Pioneer. I have talked to some owners that say they can control the Onstar volume with the steering wheel control, but they don't know what interface they have.

that's funny... gotta love them. the bose system has a "potential problem" because of resistence. to put it simply, bose has made it so that the speakers work best with their head unit (by changing the electrical resistances). for example, a manufacturer might produce a 2 ohm speaker. to isolate themselves, they'll make 0.5 ohm speakers. PAC makes an interface to correct this, though.

here's what you need: PACOS2 BOSE. also for the '04 hummers, an additional part #CM1 is needed to keep your warning chimes. here's what you want: http://pac-audio.com/pac/7_PAC_bros/...g_Radio_Q5.pdf. may take a while to load.

adding these should fix it.

Still looking at all the options. New interfaces comming out all the time. PAC is going to get back with me tomorrow. The system I installed works great. Nav is one of the best I have seen. My installer has a way to get around my onstar problem, but we are going to wait for a few more emails to come back. Leaving for Scout camp this weekend, I will check back in later.Drop me an email to remind me. glb1999@gmail.com

Although I cannot answer your question, I am looking to possibly upgrade my '03 (if it won't sell!).

I have taken my truck to the local Circuit City (do it yourself is NOT an option in my house!) and been told that the Bose system is a potential problem with installing a new stereo unit. Having looked at the same unit (Pioneer AVIC-N1), I am curious as to whether you had problems with either the install, connections, or sound quality.

However, I now see that you have an '04... maybe the '03 is just a problem??? Anybody out there with advice? (Stereo advice, DRTY... keep it on track, here! )

(I want XM and Nav... and I understand that I can't simply install the '04 or '05 GM kit...)

lolo: i'm sure you're aware, but there are two PAC interfaces specific to gm for the onstar.
