H3's on the Rubicon
We made it!!!
We went in through Loon lake/The Gate Keeper. Wheeled to the Wentworth Campground where we met up with BABHUMV.
Next morning wheeled from Wentworth Springs to Spyder Lake.
It was an incredible trip.
Scott our Rubicon Trail Patrol Guide, leading us into the Gatekeeper...
This is right when I discovered my Locker would not engage...

Re: H3's on the Rubicon
Leaving the gatekeeper takes you up to the Slabs...
But first you have to drop off this ledge without rolling
Here's Sewie...

That should easily make Picture of the Month. Like wild horses at play.

Awesome pics. Gotta love the night wheeling too! What's the story on your locker humbebe? Was it out the whole trip?

The E-locker story:
Wednesday my truck was at the dealer having the CD player replaced. It died.
When they replaced the CD player, they neglected to make sure the e-locker module was snapped in all the way.
I ran from GateKeeper to Wentworth Springs Campground, in the dark, with no locker
Babhumv saved the day, when the next morning, he pulled my console out and fiddled with the module. It snapped back in and we were in business. I almost had to turn around and go home.
Thanks Babe, I don't know what I would have done without you, 'cept cry myself a river.

Bebe, how do you think an H2 would have done? Probably a lot more dents? Glad you had a good time, looks like it was a lot of fun.

Let's go find out! I think we can test just how wide the trail actually is. I really want to go up there.
Glad you got the locker fixed Beebs!
Send a gift to those ignorant motorcycle riders. f5's idea is worth looking into...

I think the 2's would have no real problems, yes the squeezes would be very tight resulting in more body damage. It is unavoidable.
I would worry about the tierods though, lots of rolling rocks to slide off of. I was surprised we made it through without breaking one.
There were a couple of times I thought mine were done for. But it kept on driving!! Yay mee!

DRTYFN has run it. Just one dent on the rear DS door. Since then he's added wider rock rails.
Fantastic pics gang. Really looks like a blast!

Re: H3's on the Rubicon
I see you guys had both the Toyos and Coopers out on this trip. Did one brand excel over the other? Are the Toyos worth the extra money? Does anyone know how either tire does on wet pavement and in the snow? Thank you.

And BFG MT's.
They all did really well in the rocks and on slickrock. Can't speak for anything else on the Toyos since I've only had them less than a week.

I have been running the Coopers since 339 miles, a little over 9k now. They were fine in the rain. The road noise is a lot ess than expected for such an agressive tread. They did great in the sand. As for snow have not tried. As for rocks, awesome. I have even run a road rally with the H3 clad in these tires, all the Subarus and BMW came in second to the H3, we won best overall. I am glad I got the Coopers, only wish I had gone up to the 35's for stuff like the Rubicon.
