I need your help guys!

It's been raining like mad here, and the H2 SUT is leaking in the front ( I assume) It sounded like water sloshing back in forth through the passenger rocker panel, so I took off the step guards (on the inside of the cab seal, just below the kick panel) and it was full of water. I cleaned it all out, but I am sure it will come back unless I find the source. I NEED your help; anyone else found this on a wagon or sut let me know!!!

I hear that there is a grommet that can leak near or above brake pedal or fuel pedal. Not the one in the floor. Hummer told me about that when I asked about my leak.

Sunroof drains have been a problem but in your rocker panel is does sound more like the marker light(s). One screw removes the lens. Then inspect the rubber boot & see if it's seated properly. Then inspect the wire going through the rubber boot to be sure it's sealed. If anything looks suspicious, seal it with RTV silicone. DON'T USE CLEAR SILICONE. Use the black permatex adhesive/sealer.

Jonahs,

You rock! Thank you for your ongoing help with this. I was wondering about the seals under there. I will cross that bridge tonight if I have to. I am hoping I have it licked now. Tonight I will have another leak test to see if what I did at noon took care of it.

I picked up my truck this afternoon. Cerritos HUMMER re-sealed the floor plug, sealed some seam along the door pillar, removed the AC box and sealed something around there (then had to recharge the AC), and replaced the rubber seal around the door. They say it was thoroughly checked for leaks with the carpet and pad out and they seem confidant that it should not leak. Unfortunately they did not seal that rubber boot around the wires in the door pillar even though I asked them if they could. I told them yesterday that I had heard of others finding that to be the source of their problem so I thought they might put some sealant there for good measure, but no.

I did not find the foam under the pedals to be wet so I did not think the water was coming from the firewall area and they said the same thing. So hopefully the grommet up there isn’t the source.

I’m heading to Las Vegas this weekend, then up to Tahoe. Seems unlikely that I’ll find any good puddles out there between Death Valley and the bombing ranges. I’ll find some somewhere though and we’ll see.

Are you saying when you pull the rubber boot off that the marker light wire goes through there's water in the hole below it??? If so, there certainly shouldn't be water there and that's the problem.

hummerNCO...did you get it solved?

I have yet to leak test it today. I called the dealer, to help me brainstorm...not much help.

So we will see. I am going to do the door grommet if it is still leaking.

Hummertech,

Thanks for the advice. I think that is what it was...yet there has not been anyone running wires. I think the factory fit is not that great seeing that GM made all the water run right down through there. I had an ice storm here about a month ago..and the area between the frame and door had a large build up of ice...it was pretty wild.

I am just waiting to get out of work to be sure. Then i can focas on getting everything dry and back together.

ok, under the marker light is a hole that the wire goes down. It is not wet under the light per say...but there is water in the hole...weird.

LV, yeah, I really was not deep into it on that earlier post...but see below:

I put RTV around the inside of the marker lamp gromet, and then stuck it back on...it was dry under it, so I do not think that is it. But, I will do the hose test after the RVT dries.

What else can cause a leak up there other than the marker light? Only the sunroof? I also looked under the dash...looks dry..I am pissed I cannot find it. It IS coming out from the metal under the kick plate.

This is true. My step ladder has been holding the hose as I run around to find the leaks.

ok, I have read all the "other" leak threads...I will look at the A pillar. see it it is the damn marker light. How did you all fix that? Or how did you fix the sun roof leak...I am not sure what one it is...yet.
