JL audio has come out with a new Stelthbox for the H2. I have attached the link to where you can see it. (That's my H2 in the picture; it was the prototype for the new box).

ChuckTu,

Congrats on the Stealthbox! Any pix? Also, you mentioned that there was way more bass than you could've ever wanted... is it too overpowering relative to the other speakers up front? Did you leave the stock Bose subwoofer connected?

Thanks,
JDN17

LonghornRockcrawler

I have an interior tire mount and cover "4 sale".

I mount my tire on the roof ala Gobi.

No pics as of yet...gonna wait till I can get everything clean then take a whole bunch, inside and out. Rest assured it looks great though. It is definitely not too overpowering relative to the stock speakers, it just takes some getting used to when all you've had is the stock Bose subwoofer. I've had the opportunity to really crank it up over the last couple days and it sounds great. Speaking of the Bose sub, yes they did leave that connected, although I'm sure it would be very unnoticiable if it was disconnected.

I am extremely pleased with mine I actually took the entire BOSE system out. I have a JL 500/1 to the stealth box and a 300/2 to the front row and an aditional 300/2 to the second row. It is extremely powerful and a great addition. The W7 would not fit in the box. The box is not deep enough. The W6 works great..

Over the weekend I had my JL Stealthbox and a JL 500/1 amp installed...way more bass than I could've ever wanted. It does come with a 12W6 and even at low power the bass in incredible from the thing. Best of all, I have full use of all the cargo space, minus of course the left pocket in the back where the Stealthbox actually is.

JDN17 and bwm,
They had to move it forward about 1/3 of an inch so they had to re drill the existing hole to reposition, then they added a new spacer that was 1/3 of an inch wider. Very minor adjustments. There is no rattle because the box is mounted right into the wheel well itself. I will add some pictures within the next week. As for the cost I am not sure, since it was a prototype there was a swap of the use of my H2 for the box. I paid an installer $100 for the installation of the amp and the box. JL audio is one if not the top of the line speakers so I am sure it will not be cheap.

LonghornRockcrawler,
You don't need the tire mount, it's just there to show that you can have it or not. Hope this helps.

I got quotes from 2 local dealers. The box is $749. They recommend the JL 500 amp that is about $450-500. Also have labor, wires, audio converter to tie into Bose system, etc. They total quote was $1500-1600. I they also said the box would not be available for a few weeks.

I plan to get one right away. That speaker in it is a monster.

Ric-H2,
I have a JL Audio 500-1 amp installed. The installation was done at a local shop and cost $125. They ran it directly into the Bose sub so I now have both working at the same time.

I wouldn't need an installer because I already have a sub installed. All I have to do is switch the wires. I will contact them but if you have any insiders over there that could hook me up let me know!
Thanks!

Is the box Ported (has a hole) or Sealed (no hole)? I'm not trying to be a smartass but you didn't answer the question earlier.

Thanks for your help.

I have been trying to come up with a way to put speakers in mine. I currently have 2 solobaric 10's (can't remember which but they were top of the line a year ago) and a 1,000 watt kicker amp.

I like that idea for not taking up any space in the rear however I see it holds a 12 inch sub so that kind of kills me. That actually gives me an idea to build my own boxes for there. Project time!

JL Audios first press release said the stealthbox came with a W7 12" subwoofer, the enclosure size might have been too small for the W7 and they decided to change it. I think either way it's going to sound great. Let us know how it sounds. I will probably install this in my H2 as well.

AngUPS, Couple questions for ya since they used your H2 for the prototype you might have the "inside scoop". Any plans of them making one for both sides? Will there be a chance of just buying the "housing"? Is it ported or seal? What is the inside cubic foot?

I have a dual 12" sealed box setting in the back and would like to get the space back that it takes up. I have been looking for coustom set up all over the internet for the H2 and so far have only seen the one that goes under the rear seat and it only holds two 10" subs.

Thanks

Easy Ed
